Lilianne Coeverden is a composer and songwriter for musical theatre, pop, and film. Her work spans stage, screen, and live performance, weaving together lyrical storytelling, emotional clarity, and theatrical wit. With a voice that appeals to playwrights and filmmakers seeking fresh, captivating approaches to narrative, Lilianne creates music that deepens character and elevates emotion, and as a graduate of Berklee College of Music with a degree in Film Scoring and Musical Theatre, she brings both imaginative vision and practical craft to every project.

Born and raised in the vibrant city of Montreal, Lilianne’s creativity was nurtured by stories of individuals and peoples. During her formative years, she immersed herself in literature, language, and art, becoming fluent in French and developing a lifelong passion for history and the ocean.

Her musical journey began at the age of four with classical piano lessons, and over time, her curiosity grew to encompass a wide array of instruments and genres. In school, she would spend hours in the music room trying every instrument she could find—from clarinet and French horn to viola and harp. Eventually, Lilianne developed a rudimentary command of nearly every orchestral instrument, but it was at twelve that she discovered her true passion: composition.

From there, her trajectory was clear. At thirteen, she composed her first public work for her local youth orchestra. At seventeen, she wrote and directed her first symphony, Princess Natte, followed by her first opera, Candor, at eighteen. These early experiences sharpened her skills in orchestration and storytelling, setting the stage for her move to Boston to study film scoring at Berklee.

While at Berklee, Lilianne’s love for musical theatre blossomed—a natural extension of her operatic and symphonic roots. She quickly became involved in a number of productions, including A Little Mischief, Avatar: The Last Musical, Down and Out in Rocky Heights, and her original works Annelie and Bluebells. She studied under esteemed mentors such as Lenny Williams, Jungmin Lee, Michael Wartofsky, and Alison Plante, whose guidance helped her deepen her voice as both a composer and dramatic storyteller.

In her senior year, Lilianne wrote, produced, and directed Bluebells, a comedic theatrical production about the chaos and rivalries within a youth orchestra. The play premiered at Central Square Theatre in Cambridge and brought together over 60 emerging artists from Berklee, Boston Conservatory, BU, Harvard, Emerson, and Northeastern. Bluebells showcased Lilianne’s ability to fuse her musical instincts with theatrical structure, creating a work that was as musically rich as it was narratively sharp.

Today, Lilianne is continuing her journey as a composer and performer, committed to telling stories navigating personal transformation. With a background rooted in classical training and a future focused on contemporary, cross-genre storytelling, she hopes to contribute original works for stage, film, and beyond—composing music that both moves and empowers.
